AMYBO get-together, London – Friday 13 November 2026
Most of us have only ever met on Google Meet. So on Friday 13 November we’re getting together in person at Imperial’s new labs in White City for a day of lab tours, talks and discussion about open source sustainable protein, followed by the pub. It’s free, and if you can’t get to London the talks are streamed.

Lab tours
Section titled “Lab tours”See the Aseptic electroPioreactors running in Imperial’s new labs, and meet the people running them. The tours are optional: they run before the talks, so they suit early arrivals, and anyone arriving later, or who has seen the labs already, can simply join us at 12:00.
Each tour lasts 45 minutes. If you book the 10:30 tour, please arrive by 10:20. Closed shoes are needed in the labs, and visitor sign-in details come with your joining instructions.
Tours have limited places, so book a tour when you register. If a tour is full you can join its waiting list, and we will email you if a place comes up. You can book or change a tour right up to its start, while places remain, using the link in your emails.

Join remotely
Section titled “Join remotely”Can’t make it to London? The talks will be streamed on Google Meet. Choose “remotely” when you register and we’ll email you the link. The lab tours and the pub are in person only, sorry.
Attendance is free, which also means that unless a sponsor comes forward, everyone will need to pop out and buy their own meals:
- Lunch: The Works, on the ground floor of the Sir Michael Uren Hub on campus, serves hot food with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
- Dinner: we plan to head to The Broadcaster, 89 Wood Lane, opposite Wood Lane station.
- Fallback: Westfield London, next to the campus, has plenty of places to eat.
- Tea and coffee: to be confirmed.
Getting there
Section titled “Getting there”- Tube: Wood Lane station (Hammersmith & City and Circle lines) is a few minutes’ walk away, and White City station (Central line) is also close.
- Building, room and entrance: 84 Wood Lane is Imperial’s Translation and Innovation Hub (I-HUB). The room and entrance will be in your joining instructions before the day.
Register
Section titled “Register”There are 20 places in person and 6 on each lab tour; remote places are unlimited. Registration closes at 23:59 on Friday 6 November 2026, and the form shows current availability. After you register, check your email and click “Complete registration” to confirm your address: your registration is not complete until you do. Your joining instructions come with calendar invitations for your day, or for each online session if you join remotely.
