Community Experiments

Experiments run and written up by the community, oldest first. Some worked, some didn’t, and the write-ups say which.

• Control testing: do two Pioreactors with the same yeast give the same curve? A good first experiment for anyone with two units.
• CO₂ sparging: the simplest possible sparging rig, from a SodaStream cylinder, by Gerrit Niezen.
• Anodes: optimising the electroPioreactor’s anodes.
• Spirulina batch: batch cultivation of Spirulina, which is a good way to learn a Pioreactor before you try anything harder.
• HOB enrichment: the first enrichment culture of hydrogen-oxidising bacteria, on video.
